I would have started with the timing belt. Remove the plastic covers and see if it broke.

spent 250 buck on brand new coil pack..still not starting and still no spark.replaced all wires and plugs still not starting

I dont understand that part. '98 is coil on plug. Each plug has its own coil and no plug wires.

 

i allready have and i bought a new timing belt this mornin and reset the timming but thank you for the reply..any other sugestions? and your comet about the coil on plug...well this 98 has plug wires i dont think i have ever seen a rodeo like mine with coil on plug

Yours must be a 4 cyl, I always forget there were some 2nd gens with those. My bad

No spark issues can be frustrating. Can be a bad wire, bad ecu, sensor, something mechanical, etc. Not the easiest thing to diagnose.

 

Just for the heck of it, check the connector behind the distributor and make sure it's good and tight. I had that come loose once and mine just died, no spark at all.
