I managed to remove my CD player (with CDs that are jammed inside) and the radio/cassette player without taking the whole dash off. So, I am left with these wires coming out of the dash. How do I match it up the back of the new unit? Do I just match the colors of the wires and slide the new wires into the holes of the other set coming out of the dash? I have this wiring diagram to refer to: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/st ... /1184.html
. I'm also left with the two other wires coming out of the dash. One is an antenna, I assume that I plug into the back of the new unit. Then there are two holes for L-CH and R-CH. I appreciate any help!
I can't get the pictures to insert today so here are the links to the images:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WmDa-l ... sp=sharinghttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1XNMuRG ... sp=sharing

I got an adaptor from Amazon that took care of the wiring.

this is easy.....
First you will need to identify the power connections by doing the fallowing.
use a test light to identify the B+, ignition + and the GND wires.
connect the new harness to these wires.
Next identify what speaker pair of wires go to which speaker
isolate one pair of wires by color code. black & black w/ white stripe is one pair. etc
use a AA battery to very quickly tap these pairs of wires to & listen to what speaker makes noise.
connect the speaker wires of the speaker that made noise to the corresponding wires on the new stereo harness.
step 4 repeat step 3 until all speaker wires are identified & connections are made.
this entire process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

That sounds more like a nightmare to me!
I'm going to cut the wires going into the harness coming out of the dash, match them up with the new wires according to the isuzu chart and the new stereo manual then hook them up with wire nuts. And hopefully I won't blow anything up!

I should have purchased an adapter but instead cut the wires thinking I could line them up with the new stereo wires but I was wrong. The diagrams I've seen online about the 2000 Trooper stereo wiring diagram have been incorrect. The wires I have coming out of my dash are this:
Some of the wires are marked with gray paint. I assume those are the power wires? Below is the chart to the new stereo diagram?
P o w e r
+12v Ignition/Accessory Red
+12v Battery/Memory Yellow
Power Antenna/Amp Blue
S p e a k e r s
Right Front (+) Gray
Right Front (-) Gray/Black
Left Front (+) White
Left Front (-) White/Black
Right Rear (+) Violet
Right Rear (-) Violet/Black
Left Rear (+) Green
Left Rear (-) Green/Black
I attempted twice to match them up and both times, no power. Would someone be so kind as to match these up for me?
