The FT printed on the bell housing makes me question if it would work in my rodeo since FT is stamped on my tag.

Djb wrote:Yes it does. However the tag on the other trans is supposed to be for a 2000 rodeo 4x4 3.2 as well and the tag is different. Is it compatible?

ID TAG# 96041649 is used in Opal vehicles. It is likely identical to 96018555 but I don't know for sure.

Djb, if the transmission you're looking at is the one that wrightcars1 listed on this site here:https://www.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=145757 I think that post identified what it will or won't fit.

Yes sir, that's the one! I didn't see that thread before. You're right though, looks like it should fit....although the seller said they couldn't confirm my VIN matched this trans, so I wanted to get any other feedback before dropping a huge chunk of change to get it.

Well, that fixed it! Whole new trans and the Rodeo runs/ drives like new. Took a gamble on the new trans and it's paid off. Thanks again for all the help leading up to this point!
