Good day
I need your help, my dad has
Isuzu Trooper Special Edition Haslback
1988 2.8 diesel 2-Door

When ever he turns left (only the left, on the right nothing happens), strange cracking sound is coming from the back, like som metal is breaking. (Bouth differentials front and back are the same size, because, this also happens when the car is in only rear wheel drive).

First we where thiniking it is the differential ( 41/9 LSD - previous owner told us that that is the original one for this model)
We changed for another one (also 41/9 LSD), but the soud remains the seame. But when we changed for the normal (not LSD) differential, only bit bigger, I think it was 43/10. The car turns normal, without any cracking.

Sounds like the limited slip differential is chattering. Could be due to fluid or the condition of the LSD.

Don't run different gears front and rear, you'll break something.
