New to me 1990 Trooper 2.6L

Howdy all! I was gifted a 1990 Trooper 2.6L about a year and a half ago and love it. I am a geologist and it is a great field vehicle. Alas, blew the rear seal in the field last summer, lost the oil and took out two pistons trying to get to town. I pulled the engine (first time on a car for me but I have rebuilt a lot of motorcycles), had a shop grind the barrels and crank and it is all put back together. I hope to have it back in the Trooper next week and then back on the road. I appreciate the community wisdom and any advice would be very helpful! Mostly stock, but previous owners did some interesting electrical and re-routing of plumbing. I'd like to get it back to stock but willing to do any upgrades. I'm in Chico in northern California. Cheers, Russell
