Hello all!

I've spied on this forum many times but have never gotten around to post or register. I am the proud owner of an old trooper that I'd love to share!
1989 Isuzu Trooper LS (2.6L, automatic, long wheelbase) with only 149XXX miles. She's hoot to drive and work on, has head room for tall drivers (my dad is 6’7”!), well taken care of with service log and tons of upgrades:

The A/C has been converted to R134 and BLOWS 35 DEGREES COLD! :bigsmurf: .
It has a remote start, Calmini Camshaft , MSD ignition, Headers, huge roof rack, cruise control, aftermarket exhaust and off roading lights, 4 disk brakes….I could go on.

Welcome to the Planet! Born and raised here in the beautiful PNW as well!

That's a real purty Trooper ya got there, son! Calmini cam is pretty much Unobtanium these days.

An LS with A/C is a real gem. I could have used that today, my '90 LS 3.4 with no air was scorching!

If you keep those valves adjusted at regular intervals, and maintain the cooling system religiously so as to avoid cylinder-head-killing overheating, she'll give you many many more miles of faithful service.

Cheers.......ed

Thanks Ed!
Nice to meet you! I've converted two cars to the new R134 now (and this was the easier of the two of them!) I'd be happy to walk you through the conversion if become interested in doing it.

Thanks for your kind offer. Unfortunately, my Trooper doesn't have any A/C equipment installed. Maybe I'll need a Swamp cooler, eh?

Good to see some PNW natives on here. Good looking rig.

I am curious as to how doggy the 2.6 is when the AC is on? Especially an auto. My 5 speed newly rebuilt seems slow as Christmas and I can't imagine how slow it will be if I get the AC up and running.
