Click on the 'Quote' button to see what I did. :wink:

Basically, you just have to grab the URL for the photo in-question, and flank it with the image tags.

BTW - NICE MUD! 8)

I just highlighted the photo's URL above, edited the first post, and made this thread a Sticky
- hopefully to make it easier for others in the future. :wink:

How to properly post a photo in a thread:

Upload the image file to http://www.imageshack.us or http://www.photobucket.com or on the Gallery here at PlanetIsuzoo.

Once you upload the file to either of the first two sites, look for the code that resembles this in one of the three image links.

Code:
[url=link_to_big_image][img]link_to_thumbnail[/img][/url]
If the code isn't there or you upload it to the gallery or your own webspace, use that code, but change the link_to_big_image to the location where you uploaded the file. If you don't have a thumbnail and the image is huge, use this code:

Code:
[url=link_to_big_image]change_me_to_some_text[/url]
If the image is reasonable in size (no bigger than 640x480) use this code:

Code:
[img]link_to_image[/img]
Simple as that! :)

Code is very unforgiving. You forgot the "/" in the end tag so the picture wouldn't show.

Always check to make sure any img tags or any other tags have a closing "/" or else it won't work.

Cheers,

i would almost reccommend people NOT use photobucket, its pretty annoying when you have a problem, search, find a thread that solves it, and the pictures are gone because photobucket deletes em after a certain amount of time.

I have been using photobucket for years without it removing any photos of mine. Even after years of inactivity.
From experience the only time you'll see missing pictures, is if the author/poster deleted the picture, or moved it to a new directory/folder. Or if they deleted their account.

THIS INFO TOTALLY SUCKS FOR COMPUTER NEWBIES!!!!
Lots of things about using a computer, 'sucks', for computer newbies.

Including apparently, the use of the caps lock button.

;)

Have patience. You can't learn everything at once. But if you keep on trying, eventually you'll learn what you need to.

:D

Ask some questions.

BTW: The use of all caps is considered shouting.

I'll agree with pmat.

Because regardless of what the reason is for the images disappearing, way too often, they do disappear. And this happens more often with photobucket images than with any others.

It is annoying, and frustrating when you find a thread that could be helpfu, but the images have disappeared, and the thread becomes almost worthless.

An astounding number of the threads in the "hall of fame" are pretty much completely worthless because all the pics have disappeared.

IMO the best way to have threads that remain useful, on this forum, would be for the admins to enable uploading of images, for every time you make a post. No matter where it is on the forum.

If you want to save space, enable for .jpg, .gif, and .png only. And no other file types. (No text, no zip, no pdf, etc.) They can even impose a file size limit. Like one meg per image.

Thanks for the info.Someone made my photobucket link work.I never heard of shouting.Just a bad typer and too lazy to hit shift button.I'll shape up.Can't even get a smily to appear.Thanks and I try to google search every question and have two books on Windows Vista for dummies but they are not written for dummies but someone who has had a computer before.Two years and I still feel ignorant.I want to learn virus removal for all types of computers.I've at least learned how to use system restore to return my computer to a previous date that I know it worked right but your supposed to replace your Microsoft and anti-virus companies updates I,m going to figure that out next.It would definitely be a bonus to be able to load pictures directly from comp files.Just learned that a couple of months ago.Also,I bought a 14megapixel camera to take top quality pictures but you have to turn the camera setting down to 640x480 so picture will load faster or load period.Also what about using Picasa 3 instead of Photobucket.I registered for it but it seems more complicated.Not stoopid;just ignorant.I spent an hour trying to find out what a URL key is and does.I hate being ignorant and alot of the google info is totally useless.Have two books on Windows Vista for dummies and can't find it.I hate being ignorant and unlearned about computers.Two years and I don't seem to know enough to get by.Like one drop of water in the ocean.I see the box above but am clueless.Thanks for your help.FRUSTATED OVER AND OVER,Duane
