2.6 4ZE1 CALIFORNIA vac diagram (Solved)

Postby TroopDawg » Thu Apr 08, 2021 10:15 pm

For the love of God, please!!! How do i plumb in the blue (electric powered) vaccum swith/selenoid...

1991 isuzu trooper 2.6 4ze1 MUA5

I havent seen it in a single video. I did a full body swap so please dont ask me to refer to the hood diagram :( its an 85 body on a 91 frame.

Everything was connected before i did the swap so i know i have everyrhing.

The before pics i took do me no justice when it comes to using them now.

I am good with the names, shapes, locations and descriptions of parts, so it would help if someone could do a worded step by step diagram that follows the order of operation. (Hip bone is connected to the thigh bone) type write-up lol.

What does this sensor actually do? Im in california soni have to pass smog, if i can bypass it somehow and stay legal, let me know.

Thank you so much ahead of time

If it helps.... the vac valve/selenoid is colored blue, i know it sits on top of the motor near the intake. It has 3 vac ports and i know the port on one end of it points down... yet i have no idea where any of the 3 ports lead to.

I think i can handle the rest of the diagram on my own once i get past this part

This is your EGR duty solenoid.

One port attaches to the intake manifold. The other port runs to your vacuum regulator after it tee off into a parallel circuit. The parallel circuit runs to the V.S.V. control switch port. At this point the EGR valve is connected to the other port of the the V.S.V. switch completing the EGR validation system

When u say “tees off”... do you mean it tees off by use of the “f connector” or the blue thermal vac switch?

And you mentioned 2 of the three ports. From the pics i see of this part online... it looks like there is some sort of plastic vent cap that goes on the bottom port? Mine is gone or non existent. Is the furthest bottom port on the solenoid a vent?

its a simple on/off switch thus, it doesn't matter.

1991 tooper california diagram on hood

Postby TroopDawg » Fri Apr 09, 2021 8:48 pm

Can someone please take a pic of the diagram on their hood?! It HAS to be a 91 4ze1 IN CALIFORNIA. It seems like something has changed every year with the vac lines. Finding a clear pic of the diagram is impossible. The autozone diagrams look blurry

Now I'm curious though, exactly how does one identify a California Trooper? There could be one sitting in a yard by me right now, but I wouldn't know.

California equipped. Smog components. Emmisions BS. Youd know the difference between a fed and cali equiped trooper if they were side by side. They all look the same in a yard with the hood down.

Oh and not to mention.... our troopers in Cali are usually rust free and in prime shape. Thats the easiest way to tell
