Can someone please help identifying the parts and their purpose in the photo 1. I know the big round part is for the oil pressure sensor? the item on the left is for oil switch? the connector on the right? these came out of a 1996 Trooper.

In photo 2, what is the function of the temperature switch shown on the left of the photo 2?

Thanks

Thanks Finefettle, IN the bottom photo, the switch on the right is for coolant temperaturegauge. Not sure what the left is for. It looks like a temp sensor but not sure what it is for?

Thanks Batman. in the first photo, the oil pressure on the right of photo is for oil pressure gauge, the oil pressure sensor on the left is for th?e low oil pressure light on the dash?

In the bottom picture, the connector on the right is for the big engine temperature gauge on dash (that I know). The connector and sensor in th eleft of the photo number 2 are for temperature sensing maybe they are for the fuel injection pump cold running ?

White trooper's, both sensors look slightly different from my 88 2.6L, suggest getting a chilton or haynes repair manual to verify exactly what you have. You may be able to google oil pressure sending unit and temperature sending unit and compare pics. The unit in the second picture that's in the block with the 2 pin connector may be the CTS(coolant temperature sensor) that tells ECM (computer) the engine temp. Don't assume there are defective until you test them properly. The haynes or chilton manual should explain how to test them. Good luck- Batman!!
