Wonder if the Y-pipe from a Trooper is the same? Might want to check with Jerry. As far as the flex pipe goes, I would think a muffler shop could fab one for you.

i have a y-pipe but it had the flange removed. i can cut the pipe, thats not a problem and you can have a flex pipe added as well as the back section of 2. Let me see what i got, truck is a 2wd Spacecab but should be all the same. som fabrication may be needed, see if thats allowed for emissions on your end....but i can get this one off the parts truck.

The downpipe and flexpipe certainly look very similar to the ones on a 2.6L Trooper.

Neither of those pieces should affect the emissions though. You just need a CARB approved CAT.

Any aftermarket header has to be CARB approved too. It's stupid, otherwise I would have a pacesetter.

Hmmm, I don't know if CO copied the CA code exactly. That's something I should look into. If so, that'll basically make my turbo kit idea impossible. When I went to get emissions last, I don't think they even look at my exhaust.

Ron, I'm going to check a part out locally this weekend to see if it has one. Ideally looking for as little fab work as possible/want to just bolt it up. Will PM you if that option falls through, appreciate the offer!

@Enemigo yeah CO is going to all cali based emissions. Not sure how that works when this truck has been in Colorado it's entire life and it's never been an issue before, but I'm just going by what the emissions nazis told me. They failed me on the header. This has prompted me to coincidentally actually pull the trigger on a turbo setup (🤫) as if I'm gonna have to run stock to pass the test, just a header and high flow cat isn't enough of a performance difference to warrant swapping everything out once every couple years haha. Plus of that is I'll just load a super clean tune on the ECU when it's time to get it sniff checked for extra insurance

I was asking my buddy who is pretty high up at emissions out here in colorado and he said they shouldn't even do a visual anymore, just matters if it passes the test. Well, I don't know how high up he is, just that he doesn't work on the front lines and is in a special department.

I wish he was more helpful though. I told him I wanted to build a custom turbo kit and wanted to know if they would fail me on some BS, arbitrary visual inspection like they do out in Cali, and he responded with, "What are you trying to get out of installing a turbo?" I told him I didn't even understand his question. I was like I want a turbo because they are awesome. The end. Also because I want my Trooper to be less reliable.

I think he thought that since I was asking emissions related questions, that I was having trouble passing, and somehow thought that installing a turbo would help.
