sometimes when im on the highway going straight as can be the front wheels start to either turn slightly (not dangerously) left or right, and the steering gets a little lose but then it catches back on it does this randomly at highway speed could it be sway bar bushings?

You need to go through your steering parts, pall joints tie rods even the wheel bearings, sounds like something is worn out. I wouldn't think it's the sway bar if you notice it while at highway speeds traveling in a relative straight line.

I don't know if the front end of yours has and Center Link or not! My '92 Amigo does and it needs replaced. That is why I have what I call "sloppy steering" Check that out ! Maybe the steering stabilizer??? :?: 8)

The wheel tracks on some asphalt roads are subtly rutted by the weight of trucks and the wheels will wander back and forth in the ruts...
