trying to fix a friends Isuzu Amigo. Not sure which motor or what year. I can find out if necessary. It idles very high as soon as start up and never goes down. It did the same thing a while ago and eventually went away and idled fine. This time it will not go away. Someone has unplugged something to make the idle go down but now, it stalls as soon as you let off the gas and the check engine light is on. I have read numerous topics about the EGR. Would the sticky or dirty EGR allow the idle problem or is it something completely different. I will get the engine info. later but hopefully someone can get me started on fixing this thing! Thanks!

IF IT IS 96-98 MODEL WITH 3.2L V6 UNPLUG THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH LOCATED IN THE POWER STEERING PUMP IT IS THE ONLY WIRE CONNECTED TO IT

Shut engine down, ignition off. Remove computer fuse under hood for 15 minutes, replace. It's suprising the number of problems this fixes. Isuzu computers seem to be very prone to computer glitches. Cost nothing to try.
