turbo upgrades

I have an 86 trooper II with the turbo diesel and was wondering if anyone knows of any turbo upgrades avalible. Also, due to the placement of everything it looks like it would be difficult but is it possible to install an intercooler.

I think the easiest thing to do would be to put a boost gauge on the intake manifold, and note your typical max sustained boost. Then you can go to turbo shops and look for replacements for your blowoff valve, which will increase the max boost level. Problem with that is you don't know you've gone too far until it's typically too late.
