Hi guys,
My son bought a '91 Rodeo 4x4, V6, 5 speed last week. It was short lived, as the transfer case now sounds like it is full of marbles. I pulled the drain plug, and it isn't pretty. Anyway, what I'm trying to figure out is whether the transfer case is the same between a 4 cyl. and a V6.
Thanks in advance.

No.

Or more technically, essentially yes, BUT...

The transmission and transfer case cannot be separated on an MUA5.

The transmission from a 4cyl and a v6 are not interchangeable.

You could possibly pull the guts from one transfer case, and transfer them to the other.

Hmmm, that does answer the question, just not the answer I was hoping for. Thanks.
