Hi, my Trooper is an 86, 2.3 lifted around 2.5" +-

I'm thinking about 31x10.50 or 32x11.50, with Toyota 4runner 8" wide rims. 31's are more common to install.
But 32's offers more look, affect in performance on 32 tire height?
Or not go to install more than 31's?

31x10.50x15s fit nice on 10 inch wide wheels on the first gens.

One thing to consider, probably affecting the performance more than the added weight is the final effective rear ratio. With a 4.56 rear and standard 235x75x15 tire size, when moving up to 32x10.5x15 your rear ratio becomes 4.12. That's higher than 4.56 and you may end up shifting out of 5th on even the smallest hill. With my 89 RS which came with a 4.77 rear and 31x10.5x15 tires new, the previous owner stepped down a size to 235x75x15 which puts my effective rear ratio over 5.00. It runs like a striped ape, and when I go back to 31x10.5 x15 tires it will look cooler, but I'll bet it won't run as well.

itsmehb is correct. I run 32 x 11.50 x 15 on stock snowflakes, and it looks awesome, and does not rub, but, it shifts out of OD on the slightest hill at speeds over 55 mph. It works wonderful in 4wd. Just depends on how you are gonna run her.... For me I only drive her short distances and in the woods and back roads and hauling a trailer, so for me it is great, and I will take the looks and the 4wd ability over the high speed performance....

I had on my 3d Trooper 91' tires 33x12,5r15 BFG MT KM1. That tires were doing great job.

These look great! I suppose you have a 2'' lift? Im thinking about getting 33x12.5x15s (15x8)! but im reading it'll "rub."
Thing is... seems like every trooper has its on dynamic changes lol. Some troopers have no issues, others do... Not sure, but i love how yours looks. I plan on lifting my stock 91 Trooper about 2 or 3 inches.. after getting my tires.

that's common....especially if it hasn't been lifted....another side effect is the bigger the tire, the overall speed is decreased...especially going up hill say, on the interstate...and the speedo will be off...somewhat..
