I have a 1988 trooper and i am hoping on reinstalling the original throttle body with the oval port. I currently have the later TB with round port.

The TPS on the TB with oval port has this wire coming out of it with this round connector. Where does that hook up to? Is that not a correct TPS for my year?

I have a manual and CA Egr.

Is that TPS with the extra wire for an automatic? Does the manual Trooper have a TPS with no additional wire?

The TPS you have is for the automatic trans models. It basically tells the trans when it needs to shift. You can use the auto trans TPS on a manual trans truck but not the other way around. Only an automatic truck will have the wiring harness with the other end of that plug. The manual trans only uses/needs the black connection point that is "built in" to the sensor.
