Hi.
yes it's been asked 100000s of times before but:

1. has anyone with a stock rodeo increased by 1 size and encountered problems?

Are you talking about going to a 255 or a 265?

The 255 isn't really a bigger tire. I have the 255/60/16's on my wifes 98 and did before the 3" lift. No rubbing anywhere.

There are people that have done some minor trimming that are running 265/75/16's on stock height 2nd gen rodeos.

The trimming that needs to be done is inside the fenderwell on the front well. There is a body seam that needs to be pounded flat to give adequate turn in clearance. Then you can heat and reshape the plastic inner fender.

i went 30x9.50 and love 'em. i think you can go 31x10.50 if you tuck your mud flap in.
big difference over stock 235/75 in ride, handling, and clearance

Well, well, well - seems like I can get both the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM and Goodyear Wrangler MT/R in the 255/70R16 size (since they don't make them in 265/70R16). That opens up some new possibilities with a 2.5"-3" lift and no mods to the fenders. I think that gives me a 1/2 inch extra from the tires maybe? This is looking good!

Shon you will be kicking yourself unless you at least do the 265's

It doesn't seem like much but when you get over to Uwharrie and want to try different lines the clearance given by taller tires really does make a difference.

You can put a 2 foot suspension lift on your truck and you'd still get caught on the rear diff, until you put taller tires on. A taller tire is the only way to gain rear end clearance.

I see - thanks Joe. I should have considered that to begin with. I guess I am going with either REVO's or the Yoko AT +II in 265/70R16. That should give me at least an inch - right? Well, at least a 265/70 still means no fender mods, just a tight mud flap. I'll do the bigger 75's after I put a few miles on the truck and the warranty dies.

Has anyone put 265/70R16s on a stock 2000+ Rodeo? If so, whats the rub issue? I had some 245/75's on my 98 but they still didnt fill the wheel well completely. I know there are a ton of posts about this but Im looking for a defineative answer and hopefully someone who has done this. Also, why is it so hard to find a tire in 255/75, Im pretty sure none exist but Im not positive. I believe that would be the perfect 2nd gen rodeo tire at stock height.

I'm running BFG Long Trail T/A's on my 2001 in 255/70 R16. Sure, they're not much larger than the stock 245/70/ R16 wheels, but they sure fill the wheel-wells nicely and don't rub the stock mudflaps. I'll upload some images in the morning.

I'd recommend no larger than 255/70 on the stock wheels at stock height or you will encounter rub conditions. 265/60's may fit, if you can find them.

Stick with 255/70s or lift it.

Really depends on how big the tires really measure. My 265/70s measure 31.5" and touched my fenders standing still before I got a lift, so I ended up getting a lift so I could fit the tires and even with the lift the 265/70s rubbed off-road now and then and when turning into driveways, so ended up also trimming the fenders.
