I know Van usually posts this, but figured I'd get it going

First off, my wife and kids had a blast. For my wife and the 2 younger kids, it was their first time on the trail. I think I only truly terrified my wife when we got to the top of Dickey Bell and I turned off that top rock a little wonky and off camber and lifted a rear tire :blackeye: But it bodes well that they enjoyed it and these trips can be family time instead of just dad time.

As always it was good seeing familiar faces and meeting some new ones. Wish we could have gotten in earlier and got more trail time, but thanks to those who came out for the Saturday pre-dinner run that went a bit long! Good late night campfire conversation as well.

I'll dig up some photos here soon. Please share what you got!

Thanks for starting the thread Paul.

I had a great time as usual. Weather was pretty much perfect except for Friday afternoons hail, wind and rain, but that finally let up just in time for the evening. 8)

Only went on the trails once to get firewood and that ended up being a minor ordeal.

Enjoyed the great food, talk and a toast to Joe D.

On to the vids  I only managed to get 2 this year.

Now came the minor ordeal.

While getting onto the Saw Mill trail, some guy was working the trail on a mini-bulldozer and told us "Good Luck on the trail"

We had done it plenty of times in the past and considered it a fairly easy trail... until we came to this point ( in the video ) on the trail.

Billy was driving the truck while I went down below to video... mistake... Now don't get me wrong, Billy did a fine job of getting it down to a point at which time I should have been spotting instead of videoing.

On the video, on the bottom right hand side there's a wagon wheel symbol/HD , click on that and slow the video down to 0.5 and you'll see what I mean... I could've gotten under the truck and did an oil change in that crevice / gully.

Long story short, my winch wasn't working properly to pull it forward, so Earl had to winch us back up the hill while some Jeep show-off on 40+ inch tires and a v-8 came screaming up the hill at us.

It was fun.

Good times had by all for sure.

Ruination, that was probably closer to 5 buckets by the time we got all the winching involved!

Look forward to doing it again on a frequency closer than the 5 or 6 years between this and my last trip.
Thanks for letting me drive Van, it only took like 200 yards for me to stick that thing on a giant rock!

Great campfire conversations, and cooking with everyone, and telling awesome Joe D stories with Paul and Lorenzo.

Hope to see everyone again soon.
