The seat belt retractors/recoils on my '99 Amigo are extremely lazy; I have to gently guide them in most of the time. Is this an easy fix, or could I compromise the restraining system by messing with it myself? Never attempted this kind of repair before, so I'm just wondering whether it'd be a good idea to even get into it. they DO work, it's just annoying. :? Opinions?

Replace the retractor mechanism, you mean? I'm heading to the junkyard this weekend to look for some other parts, maybe I'll see if I can pull one...then I'll ask you guys how to install it 8)

If you successfully pull one...

You'll be able to install it without any help.

+1 what Seldor said. Getting it apart os 90% of the battle. Once you get it out of one vehicle getting it into a different vehicle is a breeze.
