I have a bare bones 92 trooper SOHC 5spd with 227k on the clock and runs like a top. I was just wondering what the gear ratio for this year normally is? I know that the 87 I once owned was 4.56 and the isuzu rear I have laying in my garage is as well but wanted to double check on this year and model. Also, what is the common lift options? If its 4.56, I have a yota front axle with 4.56 gears that would be nice for a SAS but I havent found one of this year with a solid axle front. I am wanting to run skinny 33s or 35s on stock wheels

You can run 33s with 2-3" of lift, easily accomplished with rear lift coils/spacers and crank the front torsion bar ride height to match. 35s take about 4" to run cleanly, with a combination of suspension lift and body lift. They can be run with 3" lift if you do a little trimming to the front wheel wells.

If you do your SAS you can get 5.38 gears for the rear 12-bolt from Independent4x, this is about perfect for 35s. The only other gear option is 4.77.
