I have a 96' Rodeo 4cyl with 88,000 miles. I have noticed that when I shift, the engine winds up and the car slowly starts to accelerate. Am I correct by assuming that my clutch is going out? I purchased an Exedy clutch and will replace it soon anyway. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!

Definitely sounds like the clutch is going. Replace it before it fails completely and leaves you stuck. I'd recommend you replace the pilot bearing, rear main seal and have the flywheel surfaced while things are apart.
