I recently discovered a Chinese version of the Rodeo and Amigo under the Landwind brand, and they are quite alike. I like the slightly different front Rodeo styling, and the Amigo looks the same. I did a translation of the homepage, and it roughly talks about new product SUVs for 2004. Maybe they are based on the D-MAX and shadow the new Trooper? Im gonna try and remember these pages to follow the details.

Dave Chang, who is currently working in China, posted about this sometime last year over at the 'Wire.

"Imitation is the best form of flattery" - or something like that

Amazing what those Chicoms can do with reverse engineering.

Went to an Eckard's drug store the other day and they had a container of American flag pins for sale at the register, very patriotic. I picked one up and of course it said "Made in China" on the back of the pin.

So, you have to note the irony of American flags being manufactured in Communist China where the only American workers who make any money on this type of stuff are the dock workers who work the container ships as they come in and the truckers who transport the product hither and yon.

I pointed it out to the clerk and said, "This is so wrong." She just laughed and said, "But it's a good price."

We're so screwed in this country.

Cheers,
