Hi,
anyone know how to replace the bulb for a 2000 rodeo shifting console light?
i can't currently see if the car is in park, reverse, etc. On the fuse panel I only see a call out for "dome light."
Nothing seemed to work replacing that.

If you're talking about the shifter itself and not the guage cluster then... Its a #74 light bulb for the shift light.

You need to carefully remove your center console. There are two screws that hold it down. Lift the arm rest up and look straight down.
You'll also need to remove the center trim/bezel for the stereo, its held by one screw behind the ash tray.
Then there are like 2-4 more screws that secure the center console/trim to the body.

And lastly, lift up your hand brake and remove the two screws on the gear shifter. If you don;t have a stubby, just move the shifter back til you get some room.
Lift up the whole center console and remove, from there you should be able to see what to do. The shift indicator trim just pops up. Bulb is located on the side.

Oh and if its the shifter bulb... you could always look at the guage cluster to see what gear you're in.
