Replacement door speakers

The front driver side speaker is toast. What size speaker does that take as a replacement? I'm guessing its a 6.5 inch. I bought a 5.25 last night and they didn't fit. :?

Can anyone confirm this?

Crutchfield says they take 5 1/4's, and I've never seen them wrong.

The are... Kinda.. The 5.25 require a special mounting plate. I may end up taking the speakers I bought back and ordering the ones from CF. They supply the bracket with the speakers. If someone can't tell me if 6.5s will fit.

Well I got the 5.25s installed after all. I decided to turn the speakers and drill holes. It worked fine that way. Don't know why I didn't think of that last night.

crutchfield is wrong on this one... they are 61/2 i just put new sony's in and they are 61/2 and fit perfect, also line up exactly with factory ones.

Crap.. I almost took the 5.25s back to get the 6.5, oh well.

I have 6.5 Infinity Kappas in my 98. But it did NOT fit perfectly. It took a little bit of massaging to get them to fit. 5.5 was definately stock. But with that said the 6.5's are in and sound great.
