So I was having the P0463 code on my 01’ Rodeo LS w/3.2L 4x4 and decided to drop the tank and install a new fuel sending unit. During the process, one of my buddies was trying to remove the smaller hose attached to the 3-way nipple, this particular hose goes back to the evap system canister/charcoal filter thingamajig. Anyways, he got the hose off but took about 2/3 of the nipple with it. We improvised and let some heavy duty marine grade adhesive hold the nipple together overnight and reattached the hose this morning. No codes yet but was wandering if anybody new what the heck that part is called, can it be replaced and how risky is it with the adhesive fix holding it together. Thanks in advance!

How’s it attached to the tank? Is it similar to how the fuel pump is attached, or is it sealed in somehow?

It appears to be sealed, I reached into the tank through the pump opening and felt the underside and it’s all smooth plastic cylinder in the tank under the valve. Looked like liquid gasket was used when it was installed but I can’t find anything referencing what the actual part is called which makes me think it’s part of the whole tank.

I just saw your other post asking for a fuel tank shield, you may want to check around for just a whole new fuel tank without the rust issues. I know many junkyards drill the tanks to drain them, but you might get lucky.

Will do nice contacted the yard closest to me and they have 3 rodeos on the lot but non of the tanks/shields match. Time to expand the web!

Awesome, thanks! Yeah I tried giving it a solid twist but no joy, didn’t want to break it further. It looks like it might be plastiwelded in or so thing with liquid gasket, idk. Trucks running fine so far so fingers crossed lol
