Is it possible to replace the entire dash console (speedometer, gauges, htg. and a/c controls, etc.) with a dash from a much newer Trooper? Here's my plan:
1990 Trooper LS Dash
--replace with
2002(?) Trooper Dash

I haven't heard of anyone doing it, but it seems feasible that it would work. The sizes/dimensions are similar enough to make it seem that it would fit. One possibility is to leave the speedometer area intact ('90) and the htg. and a/c controls intact - this route would just be shaping the '02 dash around the '90 gauges, etc.

Does anyone have any thoughts, experience, or advice on this???

Well, I have done a few dash swaps, but on VW's. I am sure it's all the same. If you have experience in it, it's not that hard. There is usually alot of fabricating involved but if you are handy and have some knowledge in welding or "hacking" then you should be alright.
