pricy alternator fix...any help?

2880 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Canucklehead
How hard is it to replace an alternator on a 1998 isuzu amigo 4-cylinder. The dealership thinks 575 is a fair price. Is it just loosening the belt and removing some bolts or am I missing something. I would go look but the dealer has it right now and is waiting for my call. Anyone have any help?
much appreciated!!!!

Looks like a piece of cake to changeout the alternator on the 1998+ Rodeo & RS- isuzu/holden/daewoo 2.2L. It's way up high & to the left + enough room under the hood to just about stand in there. Do yourself a favor & get a new/dealer alternator. Sometimes you get lucky w/ a rebuild, but more times than not, they only last a few months or so. G/luck
