Have replaced ECM, Distributor,coil ignitor still no fire, ignition seems fine, turns over but no fire, ground wires seem fine. Took to shop they had it over 2 days and couldn't trace the problem, they hooked it up to to a $4,000.00 Snap On diagnostic machine, said no negative codes, also replaced ECM relay. Can someone help?? Thanks

"ground wires seem fine"

This isn't really definitive, you may need to bypass one or more with a new one to be sure, and there are usually more than one ground, I know of one at the rear of the motor near where the tranny bolts up that can be a problem.

Also, the flow chart doesn't go back the other way. Did you verify that the ECM is sending voltage signals to the coil to charge up and fire?

Also, you need to verify that the dizzy shaft is actucally turning when the engine is turned over by removing the cap and checking for rotor spin.

Cabling all OK? What about the center cable, any spark coming from the coil to the cap?

Good Luck, unfortunately, with trucks as old as ours, all it takes is for one broken wire from age to totally screw up the day..... :cry:
