I am a new owner of a 1990 trooper. This is a project vehicle that will be converted into a hunting buggy. It is a 4 cyl. I-TEC that has been sitting for 3 years.I dropped the tank and replaced the fuel pump and filter along with cleaning the tank. The vehicle will start but die within 3-5 seconds. What do I do next?

Check the alternator and the "Engine" relay. The alternator energizes the engine relay, which provides power to the fuel pump after the engine is running (before hand, the key in the start position provides power to the pump)
