Now that I've line up help to install an Indy lift (Thank you so much for your more than generous offer Vovkus!) I can't decide which lift I want.
I was originally going with 265/75/ 16 tires and the 1-1.5 lift. I know I don't need a lift for this tire.

Choices:
A) 265/75/16 on a 1-1.5 in lift.
B) 285/75/16 on a 1-1.5 in lift
c) 285/75/16 on a 2.5-3 in lift

Here are my concerns about going to the higher lift and or bigger tires.
Drive train dependability, such as problems with the transmission, axles, CV joints ETC.
Will the braking be compromised significantly?
Will the performance suffer significantly so that it accelerates way slower?
I am currently running stock tires (225/70/16) and wheels.
I have a set of 8X16 wheels with a zero offset on order.

Let me know what you all think.

265/75 deviates about 7% from stock size, 285/75 about 11%. Acceleration and braking will be affected the same amount.

I was very happy with the 265/75s on my old 99 Trooper, never felt tempted to go larger, not wanting to lose more power. I went wheeling at Moab several times with those tires and the OME lift...

Yep. Here is a pic of wheeling at Moab, with a nice view of the front 265/75 tire... 8)
