So it turns out that the wheel stud has come free from where it is connected to the hub. So now not only am I not able to take the nut off I am also not able to hammer the stud out. What are my options now? I have aftermarket wheels and the lugnuts are pretty big, so fitting some kind of grinder in there seems impossible. I'm just at a loss at this point.

That happened on my dad's 98 a few months back. What we ended up doing was using a thick chisel behind the stud. The chisel was chosen because it was wedge shaped. We put it behind the stud and used it to press the stud back into position. This got the splines on the stud to grab enough to get the nut off. (btw, when we started to back the nut off, eventually the stud broke.)
