Is there a way to put the engine from the early model Tahoe, Silverado, or suburban into my vehicle? Or is there any alternatives? Wanting more power than the v6 has.

The early NorthStar engines had problems with the head bolts stretching. This issue was soon corrected.
They are a high technology engine with 4 cam, variable valve timing & selective powerband modes. The engine is all aluminum and therefore light weight with a very small foot print. The starter is in the valley up top which leaves plenty of open space at the bottom for drive and exhaust systems. In some cases air shifting system. when mounted longitudinally the water pump is in the rear of the engine. This allows extra space up front due to the flat vertical engine face.

Used 2 and 3rd gen Northstar engines are not expensive. Some quick freshening up and they will run with outstanding reliability. From the factory they are between 250 and 486HP. VVT gives them a wide power band too. Supercharged 1000HP is easily achieved. Buck for buck & Lbs for Lbs there are only a coupe options that are equal.

It's not under 5K to re-power a trooper with a NorthStar.
The engine ready to drop in is in the 2k range. standalone ECM is $1700 plus wiring. Add time and materials cost to fabricate; Engine mounts, Cooling system, Oil cooling system, Intake system, Power steering system, Exhaust system, Fuel system, Tuning & all the required wiring. Cost for this re-power is in the $7000 to $12,000 turn key and out the door.

Ballpark quote for a Northstar on a 5speed swap? Less than 5k?
Cost depends on what ECM, exhaust, electrical, cooling, intake, fuel, Power steering and transmission you choose. All vehicle re-powers begin with a consolation. The cost is not under $5,000
Why wouldn't you just put in an LS variant then?
Imho the only engine you could easily swap into a 2002 Rodeo to add a bit more power is a 3.5L from a 2000-2002 Trooper. The only mod required to make the swap is to install the 3.2L engine wiring harness in place of the 3.5L engine wiring harness. You can use the existing 4L30e. Using an AR5 manual or MU5 manual requires additional work and wiring mods. The downside is finding a 20+ year old 3.5L that does not burn oil is next to impossible.

They are too wide in the oil pan to work with the 4wd system. They fit in a 2wd trooper

AC convert as well? Even at $12k the value is outstanding! You have me thinking, $12k for a custom v8 trooper is more tempting than a $60k Bronco with NO v8.

I had forgotten to list the A/C system. Yes, it is functional

You are only limited by your imagination and pocket book.

If you want a 1000HP Amigo with a Lamborghini V12, Viper V10, Detroit Diesel V8, Toyota 2JZ, Volvo V8, NorthStar V8 or anyother wild combanation you can think of, I can make it happen.

Well, if this V6 ever ends up dying, put me on the list. I would rather finance a re-power then go buy a new truck. I could drive it out to your shop and fly back to Denver. Just a ballpark estimate. How long would you need? A couple months? If I did it, I would not be in a huge hurry, but would like a timeline.

The time frame to complete this project will depend on my workload at the time you drop off your vehicle. My best guess is 6 to 8 months to complete a project of this size. Transportation to/from the airport is provided along with a good shake down trail run is included.

Do the MUA-5 and AR-5 have the same bolt pattern? I imagine that they do.
Yes
I switched to ar5.
There is a guy on fb with an Ls in a 2wd amigo in VA. I forget which one but I think he’s running a 4l60
I think I've seen a dyno video of that.
