I believe the general idea is 1 full turn = 1/4" of lift. (that is how it went when I lifted mine) For me to gain 1.5" of lift, I made six complete turns. Good luck, and remember the PB blaster. Sometimes those torsion bars can be really stuck.

I PUT A 3" LIFT ON MY '89 TROOPER A FEW MONTHS BACK AND WHEN I GOT TO THE TORSION BARS THAT WAS EASY. I JUST TOOK AN AIR GUN AND SAT THERE FOR A MINUTE UNTIL THERE WAS 1.5" TO 2.5" OF BOLT SHOWING ON EACH SIDE. I WORK FOR AND ISUZU DEALER AND SENT IT THROUGH FOR AN ALIGNMENT, BUT DIDN'T NEED IT. TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR TO DO THE WHOLE THING. I GUESS IT HELPS TO HAVE A HOIST AND AIR TOOLS, NOT TO MENTION MASTER TECHS. THE ONE THING THAT DOES BITE AFTER INSTALLING THE LIFT... NOW MY STOCK PIZZA CUTTER TIRES ARE MORE OBVIOUS!
