I have two No 2 remotes for my 1997 Rodeo.

I would like to swap one of them for someone who has an extra number 1 remote.

you can tell what number it is by looking on the back at the first line where it says:
PART NO.(1 or 2)-901XX-XXX-X

I have reprogramming instructions to share.

The remote looks like this:

Fine.
These reprogramming instructions are for a 97 Isuzu rodeo.
You have two options.
chirp sound or no chirp sound.

You must have a no.1 and no. 2 remote for this to work correctly. :wink:
as it stands now, I have no remote control over my hatch with my two no. 2 remotes
On one remote, both buttons unlock/lock the doors
for the other remote only the hatch button works and it unlocks the doors.
Thus, the reasons why I want a No. 1 remote.

------------
Programming the remote(s)
Controller for remote keyless is located under the driver seat.
If you look under the driver seat from the rear seat side you will see a
green button on the rear of the controller.

With key in off position have someone push and hold button. (a sharp pencil is useful here)

Turn key to on position
Security light at left of instruments will come on steady

Push door latch button on 1st remote
Security light will click and then go out

Turn key to off position and then back to on
Security light at left of instruments will come on steady again

Push door latch button on 2nd remote
Security light will click and then go out

Turn key to off position and then back to on

Security light at left of instruments will come on steady and after few
seconds start to blink

Push rear hatch button on 1st remote
Security light will click and then go out

Turn key to off position and then back to on

Security light at left of instruments will come on steady and after few
seconds start to blink

Push rear hatch button on 2nd remote
Security light will click and then go out

Turn key to off position
Have helper release button on controller

turning off chirp
close all doors and rear window/hatch except drivers door
turn key from off to on 5 times in less than 10 seconds.
close the door and turn key off = chirp on
close, then re-open the door = chirp off
disabling alarm
everything closed, including rear window/hatch
turn key from off to on 5 times in less than 10 seconds
the car will chirp and flash the lights once
open and close drivers door:::
once = on
twice = off
four times = valet mode = alarm off, panic mode on
the car will click/chirp once or twice to verify
enjoy!

Now, someone find me a remote!

Anyone ever find where to pick up a #1 remote? I have a #2 remote and a aftermarket one to program, but think it would be nicer to have the oem #1..

Hi all! I'm new to the forums and just bought a 97 Rodeo. I got these aftermarket FOBs off ebay and wanted to know if this method is working for everybody except me? I follow it to the T, but to no avail. I'm in contact with the seller on eBay and they are sending me a new set but I just hope my system isn't damaged. The one time I got a response, this happened....
Following the instructions, I got through it all with no chirping or anything so I thought it failed again. I was playing with the buttons and clicked the lock button... SURPRISE! It worked! The drivers door locked. Pressed it again, AWESOMD, all doors locked. I tried unlock, nothing happens.. Tried every other button.. Nothing.. I press lock again and it Unlocks my doors. So I got it to work on one button only.. But not really happy with that. So anyway, that's my story.
