i have a 93 2.3 and it will just not idle right!i have replaced the 02 sensor and the air polution pump and nothing yet.my 02 light is on and the check engine too.can anyone help me!i just don't know what to do anymore!

I think your best bet is to just keep replacing stuff. Who knows, you might get lucky and have your easter-egging pay off. :wink:

OR

You can go somewhere and get the CEL code read and start from there.

but where would they read it?i know that autozone or those other places won't read it.right?or would they?let me know.unless i have to take it to the dealer cuz that is like way expensive for there check up it's like 75 bux!i mean i'll pay it but i would like to be reaassured..llet me know..thanx alot for the help!

Most auto parts stores will check for free, because then they can sell you parts.

Do you have a Haynes manual? There is a procedure for getting codes. Depending on what type of connection there is, you either short together 2 terminals or 2 wires and see how many times the CEL flashes when you turn the key (to ACC I think). The CEL will flash, then pause then flash some more. The number of time it flashes the first time is the first digit of the code. The number of times it flashes the second time is the second digit....or something like that. That's what I got from reading the procedure real quick. My Rodeo has OBD II, but I'm sure some of the guys with engines that have the older DTC systems will be able to help more.

Ok. Under your center console you will find your computer. There will be one plug that is connected to nothing. It is a black plug. Looking at it there is two wires next to each other. Use a paper clip, piece of wire. Connect these two wires. Turn the ignition on, DO NOT start the truck. Just move to the ON postion. The check engine light will flash. The three will be 12 ( Flash *pause* flash flash)

Then it will flash the codes 3 times a piece. The last code if I remember right is a 55.
