TOKYO - Isuzu Motors Ltd said Wednesday it produced 86,354 trucks in 2003 and became the world's largest truck maker for the first time in six years, up from third place in 2002.
Benefiting from demand stimulated by tougher clean-air requirements in Japan, other Japanese truck makers also rose in production rankings, Isuzu said in a report compiling truck production data released by automakers' associations in Japan and other countries. (Kyodo News)
