I think its time for Consumer Reports to stop ****ting on Isuzu and speaking highly of the "chevy" Duramaxx Diesel and other models. I love how they say how great the Trail Blazer EXT is but then they say the Ascender is just a rebadged Trail Blazer and it rides rough, the standard 4.2 is weak, etc... Possibly if some of us actually write to them, they will retract some of the negative stuff they post about the Rodeo and Isuzu in general. Just a thought

Yes, the chevy diesel is made by isuzu but consumer reports speaks highly of this new diesel engine and leads consumers to believe that chevy built this engine. it may do some justice for isuzu if consumer reports announced that this engine isn't a GM-built unit at ALL

CR hasn't been interested in the accuracy (and for giving kudos where warranted) contained in their rag for years, why would they want to start now?

If you have a subscription, then perhaps a letter along with a subscription cancellation might get their attention, but I doubt it.

We, the ISUZU enthusiast crowd recognize the vehicles and their attributes without all the politics.

CR, on the other hand, thrives on the politics of the auto industry by constantly stirring up controversy with the automakers and their public to sell copy.

That said, CR is like a shark in the water now with regards to ISUZU since ISUZU America seems hell bent on getting out of the consumer SUV market.

Only time will tell as is always the case.

Cheers,

Actually, to my knowledge the duramax isn't all isuzu. If I remember correctly, GM and isuzu formed a seperate company for the engines, and gm brought the money, isuzu the knowledge and design. And, in america, money talks and knowledge is bought. I like that the ascender is underpowered, but the trailblazer isn't with teh same engine. Seems odd to me. :?:

ok, anyone remember when Consumer Reports deliberately tried to flip the 96? Trooper? They called it unstable and dangerous to flip over on hard cornering. Isuzu sued CR for slander because they got audio tape of the driver saying something like Should i try again to flip it.The trooper sales DROPPED OFF majorly yet it was as stable or more stable on the same turns as some cars. The same manuvers would have flipped or 2 wheeled most vehicles in the same turns. I got to give it to ISUZU SUVs they are actually pretty stable. Ive had my Rodeo slid sideways and not flip and my buddy has a 90 Amigo w/31x11.5 get his sideways also at 55mph and NOT flip. Consumer Reports are hell bent on Japanese or most foreign built (better built) vehicles. I bought a fully loaded 1993 GMC Sonoma Club Coupe pickup when the japanese Prime minister called Americas lazy and build poor quality cars. I traded my 93 Sonoma in on January 21st 1994 for a Mitsubishi Mighty max. The Sonoma was in the shop 28 days of that year and ONE day, yes 366 days of CRAP. The Mitsubishi had a sticking thermostat at 500 miles and after that, never gave me a problem until i sold it so i could get married (needed money).
CR SUCKS!!! Probably ran by a bunch of ******* Ford owners- No offense to any Ford owners here!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
