Does anyone know if Isuzu service departments are no longer working on the Honda Passport? I just heard that one in Long Beach will no longer work on them but I have not contacted any other service/dealers yet. Has anyone else experienced this? They claim they no longer have the 'books' for the Passport, yet they can continue to work on the Rodeos. They are essentially identicle except Honda service departments do not know anything about this vehicle. This one in particular is:

funny you should ask this today.I happened to be in my local dealer here in Mobile Alabama friday and they had a passport in the shop with the hood up. They couldn't help me but my local honda dealer not only let me look over their books but also let me talk to a teck who was very knoledegable on the 3.2 motor. Maybe it is a Yankee thing but not here in the south.

Isuzu 4 Life- Getting back on topic.. I have no idea why that particular isuzu dealership would not service a passport, given they are identical trucks. That's all they have to do is "pretend" it's a rodeo!! If it's a honda warranty issue / warranty covered service, that's another matter all together. That dealership would likely not get paid based on the VIN# of a passport. If it's not a warranty issue, that's $$$ they lost. I would speek to that dealerships' management, if no avail, try another dealership. G/luck

Thank you and I completely agree. If its a Honda warranty thing, it shouldn't be Isuzu's problem but it wasn't under warranty at all. I just needed my transmission code checked and they would have been paid for it. :x Anyway I just posted that to see if anyone else has experienced the same thing. I will definitely try a new dealer because Honda doesnt know **** about the Passport.

Circle Isuzu has been sold to Cerritos Isuzu. I tried to get a part from Circle and they sent me to Cerritos. My guess is the guys at Circle have short timers.

Isuzu4Life, if you have a code that needs reading your best bet is to go to Autozone (if there is one nearby). They will read your code for free which beats paying the "stealer" for a half hour or so of labor.
