At the end of 2010, one of our friend did a marvelous 5.000km journey with his 1st gen Trooper. The journey started in 19th December 2010 from Palembang Sumatera.

That journey is going through several cities within 4 islands, from Palembang - Jakarta - Cirebon - Surabaya - Bali - Mataram (Lombok) - Dieng - and going back to Palembang.

In New Years eve, Ian join the annual Trooper Indonesia Gathering (TIG) in Dieng Central Java. That was the biggest TIG ever, attended by more than 100 1st gen Trooper.

The journey ended in 10th January 2011 after 4.702kms (2921.7 miles) and 507liters (150 gallons) diesel fuel.

Story about the Trooper that Ian use, it's a 1991 1st Gen Trooper fitted with Isuzu's 4JG2T (3.100cc) diesel engine replacing the old 4ZD1 gasoline. The Trooper is very reliable, it didn't take any serious damage during that trip.

It's an inspirational journey that soon will be followed by many other Trooper enthusiast in Indonesia.
