If you could buy a car for a reasonable amount,

On a budget of about $10k (about as much as I'd spend) and under id get a wrx (2005 and older) AWD, great handling, and a turbo 4 cylinder, although I don't care for the huge hood scoop.. This is the only car I would consider buying in the near future. But that won't happen any time soon as I don't plan to ever replace the trooper.

So to clarify my question, what would you buy, (obviously how much one is comfortable spending on a car/truck will be different for everyone) for a reasonable amount?

Right now I am looking at Troopers in the 4k-6k range. That seems to be as much as I will spend right now, and most of them are under 125k.

I have been looking for the LS/LTD trim, with Automatic Trans, TOD, Loaded with options including leather.

If i had to but a CAR for under $10k, it would be a 7 series BMW or another Mecedes. WHY people will, and DO, spend $18K+ on a new econo box rolling toaster thing when they can have a very gently used flagship car is beyond my understanding!

The ******* in me also likes the Mustang GT's too!

Most def, If I was in the market for a big car I would get a W126 420SEL. 8 sec 0-60, enough room for anyone, and very reliable and tough.

You tell me! My parents spend $20k... on a corolla! My '68 corolla wagon could still outrun it.

I'm not a fan of cars, but for $10k I'd go for a sts.

I'd def get a truck, for a tow rig/dd
Gimme a used f150, or better yet a silverado with the 5.3 vortec
Those things run forever!
But it'd have to be nice, a crew cab with leather :)

I'd have to get another AP1 Honda s2000. I sold my 02 s2000 in great condition with all of the ap2 conversions on it for $10k about 5 months ago, I really miss it. I'll get another one someday.

The hood scoop isn't just a decoration. The turbo inter-cooler is right under there.

i know these are not 250/300hp lighting speed wonders in any way......but they do get far better mpg

i would be looking for a GEN1 Honda in-Site not the newer 4 door ones

its one of the few cars i would consider.

HX model civic lean burn model, cuts out to just 2 valves under 2,500rpms and uses all valves over 2,500rpms. the in-site also uses this teck in the manual trans model.

for a 4 door this is some i would consider

the auto trans version of these gets really bad mpg, but the manual trans is very good.
