Hello. I have a 99 Rodeo with the 3.2L engine, and auto trans (4x4). My problem is that it is that when I come to a stop, the engine idles at about 1200-1500 rpm and then very slowly will drop down to 750 rpm. I have replaced the idle control valve, cleaned the EGR valve and port, replaced the PCV, and cleaned the throttle plate. Whatever controls the idel speed is very slow to respond. Does anyone have any ideas that I could try? Thanks,Cliff

The TPS senses the position of the throttle plate to adjust the fuel/air misture aswell as the idle speed.
Dont know if your rig has one , but if it does , it can def. cause some issues in the field you are describing.

Might take a look at the throttle cable.

Mine was sticky so I lubed the cable which helped for a while.

Started doing it again, so I replaced it.

Seemed to correct the problem.

Jim.
