Sadly you are right, the US lost the Trooper in late 2002. The worst of that story is that we never had the benefit of the diesel. We are losing the Rodeo this year.

Thre has been talk of a Trooper replacement, but what's been offered so far is hardly inspiring.

I think the SUV concept and the 'minivan' has evolved into large Subaru-type wagons that just happen to have all-wheel-drive.

What we need now is a return to the initial SUV concept that made them so popular with the off-road crowd. Utility, cheap, dependable, reliable, and most of all, capable.

They are intorducing a double cab Isuzu here with similar hardware. If the interiour space is ok it might be a passable truck.

The Trooper has been offered here for the last years only with the diesel engine.

Yeah Don! The development worries me to :?

I completely agree with you - We need usability off-roads and less luxury (things that can break down).
