I am loosing some power on my 98 rodeo. I replaced the rear brake caliper yesterday, one was braking all the time.
If I bump the catalyser by hand, I can hear something is loose in it. But how can I tell if it is blocking the flow for real...

If you have access to a non contact infared thermometer you can check the cat temps before and after the cat. If it's clogged you will have extremely high cat temps. Normal for a cat is around 600 degrees F.

There is also a old way of doing it. Go to a muffler shop and have them cut out your cat and install a bypass (test) pipe. If your power returns then you have a clogged cat. You are already by the exhaust shop so have them weld in a new cat.

You may be getting the Intake manifold gasket crack. Are you getting a stumbling idle? Any CEL's (check engine lights)
