Well that is my question. I removed the one nut and yanked, pulled and nothing I do is working. Right now it in bungied to my tire bike rack. Why am I doing this? I replaced my Hard Top with a Soft Top (Hard top goes back on before the snow flies).

Try putting the nut on just to the end of the stud but not entirely on the wiper. Tapping the stud with a hammer will sometimes shock them loose.
The nut protects the end and threads on the stud. The wiper studs often have kind of a taper like a ball joint stud. A small puller like a battery terminal puller may be needed if the hammer trick doesn't work.
