I have a 1996 trooper 5spd manual that I am working on IT was very hard to get to the bolts connecting the tran to the engine. Igot six of them and I wanted ot know If I got all of them b4 I try to hoist the engine.

Did you get the ones at the top? If you got all of them out, you should be able to pull the tranny back a bit (gotta unhook the drive shafts and possibly exhaust Y pipe). If you are pulling the motor with the tranny detached, you will want to pull the tranny out and drop it before pulling the motor. The input shaft may get damaged if you try to jiggle the motor free while the tranny is still on the cross member and hooked to the drive shafts.

Some people pull the tranny and engine as a unit. I think you need a leveler or something to do that though. I've pulled two motors in my life, and I always pull and drop the tranny all the way before chaining up the motor. That is just my experience.
