Hello I am having issues with removal off crankshaft pully bolt. I have a 1990 Trooper 2.6L and need to remove lower timing cover to change water pump. I am seeking advice on how to keep the flywheel from turning through the starter? I have snapped two 6/40 bolts trying a temp 1"x1/4 bar off the pully hub letting it brace off the front stabilizer while turning the 24mm bolt with a breaker bar. The manual says something about starter removal and flywheel tool?

Frustrated and out of penitrating oil! Help Please....Neoman :twisted:

Take your breaker bar and socket & block it up on a solid portion of the frame on the driver's side.

Then, just barely <tap> the starter, and guar-an-teed it'll bust that bolt loose!!! Works like a charm. It helps to position the breaker bar such that all the slack is out of it before you crank the starter over.
