Okay... What are my options for a lift on a 1989 trooper....

First, what size tires can i put on stock, and second, if i jack it up (3"-6", what is better), what size tires can i fit on it, with stock rims?

thanks guys, sorry for the double post, didn't know where to go..

Stock you can fit 32's with no rub, 33's with minor rub as long as the tires aren't true 33's (ie BFG's are not truee 33" but Baja Claws or super swampers are.) With 2" of lift you can fit 33" tires with no rub.
As for lift it all depends on what you need, can afford, or want. You could put on 2" lift shackles for the rear and crank the Torsion bars up front. Cheap but effective. You may experience premature wear of your CV joints. http://www.independent4x.bigstep.com/item.html?UCIDs=839915|1109486&PRID=937893 http://www.independent4x.bigstep.com/item.jhtml?UCIDs=839915|1016330&PRID=1052374

Or go add a leaf rear and crank the torsion bars front with the same possible wear problem.
Or go for a complete lift with add a leaf/shackle for rear and drop bracket for front diff with longer A arms but this will be $$$ http://www.independent4x.bigstep.com/item.jhtml?UCIDs=839915|1016330&PRID=1140056

Just check with Independant4x. Not to be a name dropper but Matts company offers a more complete listing and the technical support is excellent as well. Plus you will be supporting a fellow Trooper owner and thats good for all of us.
