Hello people I'm the new guy. Bought my first Isuzu last year for $3k, a 2WD 5 speed manual 1992 pickup. The truck has its original 2.3 motor with 133,500 miles. The previous owner had done away with all the emissions stuff. The carb is a newer Weber that it came with. New parts I have installed myself or had my mechanic replace include:

Clutch kit and flywheel, rear main seal. Starter, alternator. Upper/lower ball joints and front bearings. Brake rotors and pads. Fuel filter, adjusted the valves as they were pretty chatter last year. Valve cover gasket. Ngk plugs and wires. New tires on 16 inch older Tacoma stocks. New muffler no cat. Radiator and hoses, thermostat. Ignition switch. Tachometer and mechanical temp gauge. Full size spare with heat shield on exhaust pipe. Battery, marine terminals, 'big 3' wiring. Kenwood BT stereo and dash speakers. 6x9's in boxes behind seat. PO says he replaced timing belt, water pump and head at about 123k miles. Front and rear shocks.

Runs like a top and I'm extremely happy with it. Old basic truck. I got rid of a/c compressor and rats nest of wires and took all that LED Chinese junk lights out and returned to stock. Dude had wrong fuses and all, real scary. In safe hands now!

That engine bay is spotless. The combo of no smog pump + carb makes it very minimal. Looks solid. Welcome to the planet!

Thanks and great to be here.
Really clean looking truck. These engines don't respond to over heating well so one recommendation I might mention. A lot of these trucks without air came with a single row radiator. If yours has one a good upgrade would be a dual row one. The 16 in wheels are a nice upgrade. Isuzu made some 16x7 alloys we nick named snowflakes that would look really good on yours. Can't see if you have a shroud on your radiator or if you have the bigger fan but those help also
with cooling.

Thank you for the tip! I just got the standard one row replacement. The old fan shroud wouldn't fit with the new radiator so I left it off (for now). I still have the shroud. Yes the snowflakes are really the better look I think. The local OfferUp is pretty dry on anything Isuzu but has Toyota everything. Have two sets of the steelies they were cheap. $120 total for 8 rims. One set for daily, one for snow tires.

nice ride!!! One thing you could do, as it seems you like your engine bay clean, is to remove the air injection tube and put in brass plugs. Its a standard thread, i think its 12x1.25mm, same as a spark plug thread. gets rid of that rail and cap you have. Some people have the threaded part welded shut but it can cause a chirping sound as the bottoms are still hollow. always likes the 88-95 style, best trucks ever in that generation. enjoy it!!! on a side note, i part out 88-95 pickups so if you need anything, i might have it.

Thanks Ron. I had no idea what that rail was for and didn't research so I left it. That's my next project 👍. Great advice and good heads up for parts. Appreciated.
