i've noticed every now and then when i put my rodeo in gear, the indicator will read reverse when its really in drive or sometimes it will go to 3rd, then neutral, and then reverse when the whole time its really in drive. turning the truck on and off has no effect, but this is not a constant thing. it happens at random. ideas? i searched and couldn't find anything relating to my problem. thanks in advance

It's your range sensor. Had the same problem on my 2000 Amigo. Fix it now, because it will start shifting strange next. Info can be found here:
