2.6 , 5sp , it works on and off. driving me nuts. i'm sure i'm not alone. i know it's probably a bad ground at the sending unit. my ?? is this, has anyone fixed this without removing tank, or cutting a hole above the tank?

Don't cut any holes :shock:.

The fuel sender is on the front of the gastank, toward the right of center. Check the wires running from the sender to the wire loom. Double check the connector, but don't break it like I did.

Don't feel bad, the fuel gauge on my '88 hasn't worked right since '94, I jsut keep track of the milage on the tripometer.
